Udon noodles are a thick, chewy wheat noodles made with wheat flour, water, and salt. However, it’s not gluten free like the rice noodles you see in many stir fries. Udon noodles are vegan and dairy free.
udon is a great way to use frozen udon noodles because they’re excellent in stir fries. Frozen udon noodles are great to have on hand for quick meals because they cook quickly.
How to do:
Stove Top:
Noodle Soup: Bring water to a boil and add desired ingredients and spices. Take the Frozen Udon noodle directly from the freezer, do not defrost, and place the noodle in the boiling water. Cook on medium heat for approximately 40-60 seconds or until al dente.
Stir-fry:
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large wok or skillet and stir-fry desired meat or vegetables. Add Udon noodle and 3 quarter cup of water halfway through cooking, stir-fry over medium-high heat for approximately 3 minutes, season to taste.
Microwave:
Place the Frozen Udon noodle in microwaveable bowl directly from the freezer, do not defrost. Add desired spices and water, enough to cover the noodle in the bowl and heat on high for approximately 4-5 minutes or until al dente. For dry noodle, remove the excess water, then add desired spices.
